Diabetes

Diabetes is characterized by chronic high blood glucose and has a multitude of effects on the human body. Common conditions associated with diabetes are heart disease, stroke, and kidney disease.   According to the American Diabetes Association, 25.8 million Americans have diabetes and another 79 million have pre-diabetes. The total cost of diagnosed diabetes in the United States exceeds $245 billion and contributes to more an 230,000 deaths.    What can you do?  Encourage education and lifestyle behaviors, adults and kids alike, for blood glucose control.
